integrated Enterprise Framework (iEF)
The Ontology of an Integrated Enterprise
An integrated enterprise framework (iEF) is the ontological representation of the structure used to define, understand, communicate and analyze an enterprise and architectural elements.
An iEF is used to structure and govern resource data to enable and assure the construction and population of an integrated enterprise model (iEM).
The iEF is capable of application across all business domains and industries, of all sizes and configurations, from complex to simple. The iEF can easily be used to construct models for any business.
For example, specialized partial representations of an iEF are used to support the management analysis, planning and execution of strategic initiatives by identifying and focusing on items critcal to the success of the enterprise.
