integrated Enterprise Workflow (iEW)
One of Many Ways an Integrated Model Works for the Enterprise
An integrated enterprise workflow (iEW) is a composite view of two or more enterprise workflows resulting in a top level graphical representation of the flow of work across two or more functions of an enterprise.
Each enterprise workflow within an iEW serves a complete, distinct, and fundamental function for the enterprise, is executed through a team of people assigned from the workforce, and ultimately results in a good (a product or system), or a service (including supporting goods and workforce management).
Based on the ontology of the integrated enterprise framework and the data within the populated iEM, the working functionality and value of an iEW further increases based on the needs and requirements of the application.
An iEW is created as an EA artifact from the architectural data in an integrated enterprise model (iEM).
An iEW is used to understand and communicate the working dependencies between people, process, tools and technologies, providing the foundation for fully integrated and synchronized business activities.
An iEW is modeled to the needs of the enterprise allowing the integration of any set of desired workflows.
